It is listening to myself long enough to notice I’m not really breathing.
It is kindness, generosity and a fierce sense of protection for the people I love.
It is rocking and soothing and making sounds that settle.
It is sitting with myself long enough to know what I need next.
It is sitting with someone else long enough for them to work out what they need next.
It is listening to a baby long enough for them to show you what they need next.
