The average, menial, daily things, the things I struggle with most, are also the things that are the best for me.
When I spend time clearing things away, tidying up the mess, doing the dishes and the washing, cleaning the bathroom, putting the clothes away, tidying up the papers, filing stuff away…when I do these things I have a parallel internal de-cluttering that happens alongside the external one.
So in the end, though I may avoid and resist them I ultimately find these activities the most rewarding and regenerative. It is some small miracle to see how much positive influence they can have upon my life.
If I only I could convince myself to believe this when I am in the middle of avoiding doing them.
