Dear Self,

I have made a promise to myself to spend Sunday tending life’s garden.

That means staying at home and taking care of the important, but not exciting, activities like washing and vacuuming and paperwork and finances and cooking for the week…

When I get to Sunday I sometimes want to do anything but these things.

I have learnt that doing them makes my life much better.

But I just get itchy and want to get away from myself.

It is a bit of a meditation, across the day I slow down and eventually I can’t imagine doing anything else, I am so grateful for a day spent tending life’s garden.

That’s worth remembering at the start of the day when it doesn’t feel like that.
